gearing yourself with alts
A little trick to consider as long as you aren't worried about stroking your e-peen and showing off how badass your alts are. Work on as many emblems of frost as you can on your alt(s) doing the random daily and weekly each week and if you are good enough (and patient enough) you can even host a 10 man icc pug each week. Use these emblems to purchase the primordial saronite you need for your main. Currently ele shamans need 669 emblems of frost for all thier BiS items (counting saronite) if you get these on your alt it goes down to 370 on your main 299 on your alts, happy farming.

Been a few weeks but not much to post until 3.3. 25man icc gave our guild a beatdown and gave ele shamans as a whole a nice big kick in the nuts dropping us further down the meters. Have faith in blizzard though I'm sure they will fix this and besides, I'm still averaging around 6k dps so not doing too bad. Keep faith my ele shaman brethren.

pilgrim's bounty
Most of the achievements out of the way in one day, turkinator was pretty rough and all I have left is turkey lurkey which again will be rough because obviously all the rogues will try to stay hidden especially those of the opposite faction.
You can find a pretty comprehensive guide here: http://www.mmo-champion.com/news-2/pilgrim's-bounty-guide/, which I helped provide info to.

So I slacked on getting this started back up but if you look at my recent achievements on my shaman you will see that I have been busy working on 10 man hard modes (I need to learn how to make that recent achievements bar too I guess lol). I'm gonna start a short how to series for anyone who may have been sleeping under a rock and not know the strats for ToC. I will be listing the strats my guild uses as well as our raid comp and will be doing it from the viewpoint of 10 man hardmode to make it less difficult to understand. Have a great saturday and in case I don't see you before then a great thanksgiving.

Ugh
Long day at work leaving me in a bad mood. I'm afraid to log in for raid tonight cause I don't wanna snap at someone even though I'm not mad at THEM. Too bad as tank I can't avoid vent.
Battle Bots!
They're here, get yours. Here's how:
mountaindewgamefuel.com - you must register an account here
https://us.battle.net/login/login.xml?ref=https://www.worldofwarcraft.com/account/&app=wam-you must go here, log in, and set yourself up with a battle.net account
https://us.battle.net/login/login.xml?ref=https://us.battle.net/account/management/redeem.html%3Fkey%3D30e66dfed4d50331274d20af4dbf1143%26expire%3D1244689244000&app=bam-you must go here and enter your login info (via battle.net account)
once completed you will recieve an in-game mail on each of your characters with the pet.
Otional step-repeat last step each day to acquire fuel for your pet via in-game mail. (note you can pick either color of fuel even after choosing a side to ensure you can make your pet battle others.
Side note: The mail only lasts until the next time you Acquire something. For example: you get battle bot day one you get blue fuel day 2. Any character's mailbox you did not take the battle bot from prior to redeeming item for blue fuel will not have the battle bot but will have the fuel.

New content
Been a great week for my guild and I, 3 new bosses down in uld25 and still got one night left. Taking a crack team into uld10 to get a feel for the fights really helps.

Patch 3.1.3 trouble
If you are having trouble dling todays patch, here's a shiny filefront link for ya.
Enjoy!
P.S. Servers are down until 1 pm (or further depending on how long blizzard fails).
The great ones die young
For anyone who doesn't keep up to date on things, curse and wowinterface teamed up to get rid of wowmatrix. If you are still using wowmatrix your addons are not being updated properly as it can no longer access either of those sites. I'd suggest curse client over mmoui minion as from my testing of it, it's pretty awful. As a side note a few good sites you may or may not know about to help you along for various things.
Until next time.
Ulduar: My take
While ulduar is getting dumbed down faster than anyone expected, there are still a few things that remain true from older content:
1. Pally healers are still pigeonholed into healing mt.
1a. Due to this, and unpredictable damage a lot of thier healing can end up being overheal.
2. Pally tanks still get the shaft on any "cooldown" bosses
3.Resto shamans earthshield can heal more on a mt than a pally spamming holy light.
4.elemental shamans are not a dying class, this is and always be a myth.
5.Enhance shamans are under-represented.
6.Elemental shamans still don't bring any unique buffs that should account for them deserving to do less dps than "pures" according to blizzards rules.
These are the things I could think of offhand, I'm going to start doing rundowns of the fights over the next week or so.

Off-Topic:Krod Mandoon
I decided to watch this show last night. There's a few good laughs in the first episode however I'm worried that some of the running gags they are trying to start up may get stale. I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt and watching another one next week as the first one seemed to mostly be there to get you familiar with the main characters and how they interact with each other. Sorry I don't cite any examples but I'm trying to avoid throwning any spoilers down here. My opinion: watch if you want a few good laughs but don't expect too much out of the first episode at least.

The stats
I'm sure a lot of you out there are going to come to this site and the first thing you are going to think when you see my first post is: "Why would I need to go here when I could just go to elitist jerks and get all the theorycrafting info I want." While that statement is true I plan on trying to make this blog more than just a theorycrafting site as time moves on. However to get things started off there are a few basic things I'd like to cover so they don't become the most common questions in the comment boxes. When gearing for Elemental shamans there are 4 main stats you want to consider: hit, spellpower, haste, and crit (in no particular order). While there is no question as to the most important of these stats being hit until you are capped (263 for alliance shamans with spriest or boomkin in raid) opinions on the other 3 vary and in the end you should never trust a site to tell you how to play your character or really what was the point in making it. Either way I think it's time for me to get some sleep.
blog focus
I plan on focusing more on pve content than pvp content for this blog as elemental shamans have it rough it pvp right now. If you have pvp related elemental shaman questions, you are gonna have trouble finding anything beyond "kiss your butt goodbye" as advice from anyone.
Welcome!
Welcome to How Do I Totem, I've decided to throw my hat into the blog community when I realized the abyss that is there in the elemental shaman blog list. I'm not entirely sure where to start and will probably start slowly but if anyone has a specific question regarding elemental shamans I will do my best to answer it. This was just a first post to make sure I had this up and running. Feel free to comment with legitimate suggestions for posts.
